Copper Leaf Rain Chain
At DuBois Central Catholic Elementary School
This piece was created in 2020 for the Noah’s Ark Garden at DuBois Central Catholic Elementary School. They are composed of copper leaves that are strung together on a chain and are designed to direct water to form a stream when it rains. The leaves were created in part by the students at DCC, who worked with BCAT metals artists to impress texture onto the leaves using stamps and hammers before forming them. While the initial covid-19 lockdowns prevented students from participating in completion of the project, the BCAT metals artists finished assembling and installing the chains so that students would see them when they were able to return to school. Contributing artists include Melissa Lovingood and Mary Kay Palazzo.,
