Kinetic Lawn Ornaments

At DuBois Area High School

In 2022, BCAT Teaching Artist, Melissa Lovingood, collaborated with students in the Jewelry I & II classes at DuBois Area High School to create spinning lawn ornaments for the principal’s garden. These visually-stimulating kinetic sculptures were designed to make the outdoor spaces at the high school feel more lively and inviting. Each student made their own spinning metal ornament from brass or nickel, then the ornaments were strung into two chains that were hung in the interior courtyard of the school.,
